Hello Stampers!
In a previous blog I posted a picture of the card the VFW Auxiliary Unit were making for Honor Flight. We make a total of 80 cards, 4 times a year. Well it's that time of year again. With Honor flight coming up in April and then again in May we need a total of 160 cards. Today we finished the 80 needed for the April Flight. It is an undertaking but well worth it.
Why do I tell you this? Two reasons, the first being that I didn't have time to do a card today, and second, I can actually use what we did for Honor Flight because we use the Sea Side Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on that card! This makes me happy!
So today, I am once again sharing the Honor Flight Card.
The white background is run through the Big Shot in the Sea Side Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It gives a gentle wave, like the flag. It is lightly sponged with Night of Navy of the edges. It is layered on Real Red Card stock and mounted on a Night of Navy card base. The stars are layers of Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White card stock, then stamped with a star. The Solider is from the Loyal and True stamp set and the words on the tag are from the retired Rose Wonder stamp set.
These cards are delivered to the veterans on Honor Flight during the "Mail Call" on the return flight home.
It is an honor to serve the men and woman who have served us so selflessly. Some gave much, some gave All. God Bless our Vets!
As always, Happy Stamping!
