Folder Friday: Country Floral Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder

Hi Everyone,

I was so excited to get my new Embossing Folder, I just had to play with it today! It is so beautiful!
I made three cards for you today.  The first card I embossed on the bottom of Whisper White card stock, only. I put Tea Room DSP on Coastal Cabana card stock and glued it to the top of the card. I put Polka Dot Ribbon around and added a Stitched Label and a Scalloped Circle with a sentiment and image from Time For Tea Stamp Set.

The second card I embossed on Whisper White then I sponge daubered color onto the raise area. I then cut out another Stitched Label and stamped a sentiment from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set. I tied it on with 1/8" Whisper White Ribbon after adding color around the edges.

The third card I embossed on Whisper White also but this time I left it plain. I added a sentiment on a Layering Circle then backed it with a Scalloped Circle. I used the Love What You Do Stamp Set.

In the Word Wednesday a Day Late!

Hello Everybody,

Sorry I missed yesterday. I was out and about and by the time I got home I was so tired and hurting so much, I have fibromyalgia, I went right to bed. Today has not been any better, sorry to say so I do not have a creation for you.

That being said, I did want to still share some Bible thoughts.

To continue our study in Genesis, I had a discussion with my friend about Noah's son Ham and it ultimately went to God's forgiveness.

Ham went into Noah's tent while he was laying naked, then he went and told his brothers about it. Noah learned what Ham had done and cursed him. Jump to the future and we see that Ham had a son Cush who had a son Nimrod who was a mighty warrior. He built many cities and they were called "Great".
It seems God may have given forgiveness and Blessed him.

Genesis 9:20-27

20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded[a] to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said,

“Cursed be Canaan!
The lowest of slaves
will he be to his brothers.”

26 He also said,

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem!
May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
27 May God extend Japheth’s[b] territory;
may Japheth live in the tents of Shem,
and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”

Genesis 10:7-12

7 The sons of Cush:

Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteka.

The sons of Raamah:

Sheba and Dedan.

8 Cush was the father[c] of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Uruk, Akkad and Kalneh, in[d] Shinar.[e]11 From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir,[f] Calah 12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah—which is the great city.

What are your thoughts?

What an Awesome God! I am at awe of His wisdom and Love!
I pray that this study is helping you learn more of God's goodness. There is way more to come!

Thanks for popping in today! Come back tomorrow, I hope to back in swing of things so I can craft with you all again!

Tuesday Technique: Painted Blown Egg and Easter Basket

Hello Everybody!

With Easter approaching, I decided to focus on an Easter Project. Today I am teaching you how to blow out an egg and paint it with our inks and make a quick and easy small basket.

 Let's get started!
To blow an egg you need to pierce both ends of the egg, making the bottom hole slightly larger then the top hole. You can use a pin or nail to do this but be very careful if you tap too hard the hole, or the whole egg can crack.
After you make your holes, take a skewer and put it through the bottom hole and break the yolk of the egg. This will make it easier to blow it out.
Now, blow the egg out, over a bowl and put aside for later.
Wash the inside of the egg by running water through it, and let dry.

Now let's paint the egg.
(Never  color with ink on an egg that is still intact as the shell will allow the ink to bleed into the egg and contaminate it) I painted this egg with the Aqua painter and Pacific Point ink. You can also use your Stampin' Write markers to draw on the egg, add rhinestones or sequins for some bling! I
I tried to stamp the egg but it was an utter fail. I just made a terrible mess. So I washed it off and started again, this time only painting it.

The Basket is so easy and quick to make.
Take a 6"x 6" piece of paper, score at 2" the 4", turn once and repeat.
Burnish all score lines.
I punched the four corners with the Detailed Trio Punch, using the flowerette side.
Next, cut on the score lines on one side to the first cross score line.
Turn paper to the opposite side and repeat.
You will have three squares on two sides, take the two end squares and bring in towards the center square. Glue in place(I used a brad). Fold down the decorated edges.
Now repeat on opposite side.
Fill with grass and fill with your treats, or as I have done here, with your blown and decorated egg.

Here is the video on how to make an Easter Basket:

Thanks Everybody for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed today's project!
Have a great week!

Monday Musings: Fable Friends and Tea Room DSP

Hello Everybody!

I think I am obsessed with the Fable Friends Stamp Set. I don't know why but I keep going back to it.
It reminds me of my children and reading Beatrice Potter to them. Good Memories!

These are the two I came up with today. One will be going to a friend of mine that just loves squirrels. I am sure she has this set and can make it herself but I wanted to surprise her with this cute little card.

I think this set pairs up real nicely with the Tea Room DSP. What do you think?

So Sweet! I hope you enjoyed them! Come back again and see what I have in store. Remember tomorrow is Technique Tuesday. You can follow my blog above to receive it in your emails so you never miss a post!
