Technique Tuesday: Embossing with Dies

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Today I have a tutorial on how to emboss using your dies. It's an awesome technique and a new way to use your dies!

Let's get started.

On tab one of your Big Shot platform place your cutting plate then an embossing mat.

(this mat is soft rubber).

Now place your paper and die, blade down, then a cutting plate on top. Run through your Big Shot.

Here are the three dies that I used.

I spritzed water on the cardstock, before running through the Big Shot, and I think it gives the best impression. You can add shims of mylar or cardstock to get a deeper impression if you would like but be careful, too much thickness can cut right through your paper and embossing mat.

And the results:

I then added ink to the back side, I really like the back impression better then the front impression on of this one, and it was something different. Then I spritzed with shimmer made with our simmer paints.

And the finished card.

This one is simple and sweet. You can see the embossing nicely. A little shimmer and voila!

Now there is a story about this one. I totally messed up the ink on it so I had to cover up the embossing I did. I like it though, so, Happy Mistake!

Monday Musings: M&M Treat Holders

Hello Everybody,

Today I am playing with these adorable dessert cups that we got from Ronda Wade's Retreat last September. Olive Garden provided the food and served our dessert in these little cups.

I just knew they could turn into something adorable so I had our group save them for me. I am finally getting to sit down and play with them today!

I love how they look and I think they will make a great container for M & Ms.

I used current Designer Series Paper, but the ribbon and glitter paper are retired. I also gave each lid a "Tea Room Cooper Vinyl Sticker".

Saturday Share: Stamp Club

Hi Everyone!

As promised, today is "Share Saturday". I may not have a share every Saturday but I do have many to share today!

I am involved in a Stamp Club and we met two times this past month. We did Valentines the first time and whatever we wanted the second time. So I have several goodies to show you!

Here we go!

We have a blast when we get together. We meet at a restaurant for lunch then we share projects to make. This is called a "shoebox". Everyone that wants to bring a "shoebox", gathers enough supplies for the group to make their project. When we are done making theirs we move on to someone else's.

It's a lot of fun and we get to learn and do different things. It's a good time for all and we look forward to getting together every month.

Folder Friday: Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder

Today's Feature Embossing Folder is the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder.

I have finally gotten my Fable Friends Stamp Set and I am so excited to get to use it! I love how it looks with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder!

This card was easy to make and a lot of fun to color. I used the Stampin' Blends, still getting use to them though.
