Throwback Thursday: Pinwheel Party Paper Pumpkin for a Memorial Day Picnic

Hello Stampers!

With the end of the 2018-2019 catalog coming so soon, all of our retiring products will soon hit the Throwback Thursday Blog Posts. Which products have been your favorites from the 2018-2019 catalog? What would you like to see me make for you here in the future? Leave me some comments, and if I have it, I will make it. I really want some ideas!

Today we are going to look back at the Pinwheel Party Paper Pumpkin Kit that was gifted to me from my friend Barb G. (Thanks Barb!) I am making these to give them to the VFW for their Memorial Day Picnic. I think they will make adorable table favors and add a little cheer to the day.
Aren't they stinking cute! (that was for you Shelly 😜 )
The VFW Vets walk in the Memorial Day Parade to the graveyard and do a ceremony for our fallen veterans. They also place flags on the graves of our fallen veterans. Then they return to the VFW for a picnic. My husband is a Vet and the Commander of our local VFW. We enjoy giving back to those who came before us and gave so much for us. Freedom is not free. We all need to remember that. God Bless our Vets!

Thanks again Barb G. for your kind donation! I know the vets will appreciate it!

In the Word Wednesday-Genesis 22 The Faith of Abraham

Hello Everyone!

I am back from vacation and I surely had a wonderful time with my family. I hope you all had a great week, or two while I was gone. My granddaughter has grown go much! For those of you that are following along with me, June is doing just great! I will put a picture at the end for you so you can see how far she has come!

On with the Bible study.
In Chapter 22 I learn more about Abraham's Faith. The gal I am doing my study with, titled this chapter, "Abraham's Test", I like to title it, "Abraham's Faith" because it shows just how much faith Abraham truly has.
God asked Abraham to take his son Issac to the region of Moriah and sacrifice him. Yes, sacrifice him! Can you even imagine. I can not. Abraham does as he is told, he take Issac to Moriah and builds and alter. Then when Issac asks where the lamb to be sacrificed is, Abraham tells him God will provide it. Then Abraham proceeds to place his son on that alter. My heart is aching here. Now, when Abraham raises his knife to kill his son, an angel of the Lord called out to Abraham. Abraham, stopped and answered, "Here I am".  The angel told him not to lay a hand on the boy, and that he knew he feared God because he did not withhold his only son. And then Abraham looked up and saw a ram that God provided.
Abraham knew all along that God would provide for the sacrifice and He did. What faith Abraham had in God. And he was very blessed for it. If only I could have a little of his faith.

Over this passed week we did a major drive. We drove from Indiana through several states picking up my dear sister in New Jersey, taking her with us on vacation to Norfolk Virginia to visit the Naval Base our father was stationed at and then on to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to visit with our daughter and see our darling little granddaughter for her 1st Birthday. For those of you who don't know. Our granddaughter was a preemie. 4 lb 3oz, she has a heart defect that will have to be dealt with later, but she is growing and doing just great.
She went from this little fighter:
To this happy, healthy, sassy, little angel:

We were blessed with safe travel. The reason I mention the drive is this. I am terrified of driving. My husband gets angry, very angry at stupid people and doesn't exactly act kindly in response to them. I just get totally nerve racked at the whole experience of it all. I worry. I panic. During this drive I prayed. I prayed a lot. And I reflected.
When our children were very small, we took a trip to New Jersey at Christmas time to visit my family. To do this we had to go through the mountains of Pennsylvania. While driving it began to snow hard and we could barely see. I was praying, and our small son was in the back seat laughing, mind you, it was night and he should have been sleeping but Jeramy being Jeramy, was awake. Anyway, he was laughing. I asked him what he was laughing about and he said, he was laughing at the Angels that were smiling at him through the window of the car. So I asked him what Angels, and he said all the Angels flying around the car. In that moment I knew we were being protected from the storm. So while we were driving this week, whenever I was afraid, I prayed that the Lord send legions of Angels to be our bumpers to protects on the roads, in the mountains, through the rain, to calm John, to make my worries go away and get us home safely. I had faith God would bring us home in one piece and He did! God is Good!
God also has given us a miracle in Little JuneBug, Born too soon with a heart defect and other difficulties, but just look at her. She is doing so well!
God really is Good!
Thanks everyone for stopping by, have a blessed week!

Monday Musings: Just a Note

Hello Everyone!

This is just a note to let you all know that I won't be on for a couple of weeks. I have a little visitor with me for a week that I am prepping for preschool. I must say he really enjoyed doing "school" with Oma today. My hopes are to help get him started, because he is behind, while my son looks for a better preschool for him.
I am also getting ready for my granddaughters First Birthday! We will be going to South Carolina to see her and we are taking the party with us! For all of you who have been following me, you know this is a milestone for our little Junebug as her early start was rocky. So pictures will follow!
While we are gone we are also picking up my oldest sister, Linda. She is joining in the celebration and we are excited to have her coming home with us for an extended stay! I love it when she comes to stay as she lives all the way in New Jersey where I was raised and I don't get to see her often, so we try to kidnap her for several months at a time, lol.
With all that being said, I will be very busy. If I happen to make something, I may pop on my facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/thecraftingfool/, and post it. But, I will not have time to write a blog here, so don't be surprised if it's 3 weeks or so before I am back because I will have to get resettled when I get back as well.
Thanks for your understanding.

Throwback Thursday: Tombow Glue Holder using Sky Blue Card Stock

Hello Everybody!

It's a little late today. I was working on Honor Flight Cards again with my friend Peggy! I think we knocked them all out for the next flight. Feels good to get them done and know they are ready.

For Throwback Thursday, today I made a Tombow Glue Holder (or what ever you use).  I loved the Sky Blue Card Stock and was so sad to see it go last year so I kept just a little back in my stash. I pulled some out to make this holder for my desk so I can look at it everyday!

It's rather quick to do. Just the kind of project I like to put together! The measurements and pictures are included here for you, with some simple steps.

Cut 2"x 11" then score 1-1/2", 3", 4-1/2", 6"
Then punch with a 1" circle in the second small square
Cut 2"x 4-1/2" then score 3/4", 1-1/2", 3", 3-3/4"
Then punch with a 1" circle in the center square
Start gluing, first with the 4-1/4" piece as shown, attached between the 4-1/2" and 6" score marks
Glue both sides of the "box" that was just formed. Give a good rub to the front then fold over to make another box and attach to the glued area and give a good rub.
It should look like this now, with the long end still not glue up yet.
Ok, now glue the back of the box you just made and lift the card stock up and adhere to the glue.
Punch the long end with the Tag Topper Punch
Cut two pieces of Designer Paper, 1-3/4"x 2-1/2" and 1-3/4"x 1-1/4"
Adhere the larger of the two to the top section and the small of the two, to the bottom section.
Decorate the way you like. I added a butterfly with enamel dots and metallic thread.
 I Love It!
Hope you do too!
