Throwback Thrusday: Have a Cuppa DSP Easter Treats

Hello Everybody!

Easter is quickly approaching! Are you ready? I am making more treats to share. Today I am using the adorable Retired Have a Cuppa DSP. I got the idea from Pinterest. A Stamper by the name of Sarah Lancaster made them and I took her cute little treat bag and made them taller and a little wider for my needs and came up with these cuties:

Here are the measurements and instructions:

DSP measuring 6" x 3-1/2", watch the direction of your pattern

Score on the long side at 1-3/8", 2-3/4", 4-1/8", 5-1/2"

Turn 90 degrees and score at 1" on the short side

Fold and burnish all score lines well.

Cut your flaps like so:

Make sure you cut in a bit it gives it a cleaner fold.

Place glue or tear and tape adhesive on the short flap as shown:

Turn paper over, Fold over flap then line edge to edge and press down.

You should have a bag shape like this:

Take one of the bottom flaps and add glue or tear and tape adhesive and glue shut.

Your bag should look like this:

Now pinch two opposite sides, not on the crease.

 Punch two holes and add a bow. You can add decoration at this point if you wish.

These little bags are adorable and really easy to make. I cut 22 out and scored them in half an hour. Putting them together will take a little more time but they are really simple and quick.

I hope you enjoyed this cute little treat bag! I think my friends will like the goodies they are getting inside, who doesn't like chocolate right!

In the Word Wednesday: Genesis 15 In God's Time

Hello Everyone!

In His Time, Not Ours...
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...Proverbs 3:5

Continuing my Bible study in Genesis I come to chapter 15 where we see Abram is now 85 years old. He has been waiting since he was 75 for God to bless him with children as he was promised.

Now, the Word of the Lord comes to Abram in a vision.
The Lord says, "Do not be afraid Abram, I am your Shield, your very great reward".
But Abram asks again about being childless. God shows Abram much understanding and tells Abram He will have a flesh and blood son and showed him the stars and told him that his descendants would be to many to count as are the stars. Abram believe the Lord.

Then the Lord told Abram he would inherent this promised land and Abram questioned the Lord again.
Again the Lord showed understanding and tells Abram to bring a specific sacrifice to the altar then puts him in a deep sleep and spoke to Abram telling him what his descendants were going to go through before they would be delivered and be able to inherit what he was promised. When he awoke a torch passed through the halves of slaughtered animals as a sign of a covenant to Abram giving his descendants land.

It is interesting to see in 15:1 that God says He is our Reward. All that  He is and all that comes with Him is Great and by Faith we receive it! 
Abram, needs assurance and God, with great understanding, gave it to him by giving him a vision and a covenant. Abram had to wait patently for things to happen to receive his reward, as do we. But be assured we too can receive our reward.

God is an Awesome God, He is our Great Reward! What more could we want!

Technique Tuesday: Making your own Envelopes

Hello Everybody!

Remember the Card Clutch I made on April 2nd? Well today I am going to show you how to make Envelopes for 3-1/2"x 5" cards for a cute little gift. The Clutch holds 5 cards and envelopes nice and snugly. I have included a video with the instructions on how to make the envelope and cards at the end of the post you will find pictures of all of the cards and envelopes in the clutch.

Well there you go! All wrapped up in a cute little box!

Monday Musings: Unicorn Card

Hello Everyone!

Today is so beautiful! Enjoy that sunshine and warmer weather. Hopefully it will stay this time!

I enjoyed making a card for my granddaughter's first birthday.  It is coming up next month and I am in the party mode! Unicorns are a really big thing now a days. I got my inspirations from a host of cards on pinterest. When I spritzed it a lot of  it landed on the corner, but it looks kinda cool. I used a bunch of different stamp sets for the flowers and some retired glitter paper for the horn. I drew the eyes and used a stitched oval for the face/head. The background is the retired Confetti  Textured Embossing Folder.

 Inside I used the retired Birthday Delivery stamp set. and modified the cake by masking out the candles and drawing in the number 1 for my granddaughter's 1st birthday! I just love that Happy Birthday Stamp, it is my all time favorite.
