Stamp a Stack Nature Class

Hi Everyone!

As Promised I am posting one of my classes. I have 7 different classes that I am offering. I tried to offer them spread out over many days so you could choose a day that works for you. Here is one of the classes:

Stamp a Stack Christmas Card Nature Class
If you like nature I've got you covered! Elk, yup, deer, yup, trees, hmm, yes!
You will make 2 cards each of 3 designs of these Nature loving cards, a total of 6 cards for $18. That's a $24 value! Bring a friend and each pay $15. Limit of 6 attendants per class when held at my house.

Class Times and Dates: 
All classes require a 24 hour reservation notice to give me ample time to prepare 
Wednesday, October 9th 10am and 6pm 
Monday, October 21st 10am and 6pm
Saturday, November 2nd 10am
Friday, November 8th 10am and 6pm

**Disclaimer: My home is not handicap accessible due to steep entry steps, therefore I am available to teach in your home (or other venue) upon request. Just book a time and date on the calendar, invite 6 paid friends and your class is free!

This Post got Lost so posting late with updates

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to let you all know how my little Junebug came out of surgery. She did fantastic! It's been a week(actually now it's been almost 2months)  and she got a good report from the doctor. He will not need to recheck her for 6 months, she is healing well. She is such a little champ!
Update: The little stinker is doing so well, she is climbing, running around and doing all the things a little 17 month old should be doing! Her health is doing great! Doctor visits have all been positive!

God is so Good!

I also wanted to apologize for not being present for most of the summer. I have had a rough summer. I have been very ill. I am not sure whether trying to keep up with the blog was part of that or not so I am going to ease back into it as I am able.

My schedule has been quite full as well. I have been scouting around drumming up business and am pleased to announce I have a very full schedule coming up, which is good news for me! I have some classes lined up at the local libraries to add to my schedule.

My first class was at the Waynedale, (Fort Wayne, Indiana), Library, September 23rd and then again September 27th. Both classes were a success. We had a great time doing them.

Honor Flight Cards for September and October have been completed and handed in, that's a total of 160 cards! Thanks go out to Peggy and Shelly for all the help getting them together! I took the opportunity to the local library have patrons make cards for honor flight as well. We also made hand written thank yous for each card from patrons of the library and the members of the VFW 1421!

Other things I have been up to this summer were:

My daughter moved this summer and I made this card for her and her husband.

A young woman from church got married and I made this card for her and her husband.

As well as 45 Thank You cards as a gift for them.

And the other big news is that my favorite sister just moved from New Jersey to Indiana! Yes! She will be staying with us for a little while, as long as she wants, until she finds a place. I am super excited to have her here. She is my partner in crime! My bestest friend in the world!

So all in all life is good, I am feeling better, even though I have test coming up.
I have lots of Stamp a Stack Classes in the works too so keep your eyes peeled as I will be posting soon!

In the Word Wednesday: Genesis 34 Dinah

Good Morning Everyone!

Well Hello everyone!

I would like to pick up right where I left off rather then skip ahead so we get the whole content of the book of Genesis. I have been gone due to illness, appointments and other life issues. It has been a battle and may be interrupted again as I am not "there" quite yet. I do encourage you to move ahead with your reading though and when my posts come up, check in and see what insights I can add to your thoughts. 😃  I am sorry for the inconsistencies. Please keep me in your prayers, it's been a ruff go.

Also, my granddaughter is about to have her heart surgery August 12th. She is a mere 15 months old. Please lift her up in your prayers. Please pray for the doctors and her momma and daddy as well.

Genesis 34: Dinah

It appears Dinah, Jacob's daughter, may have been a midwife as the scriptures mentions that she "visits the women of the land. " First it is unusual to mention a woman by name, and second it is unusual for one to travel the land, or "work" other than chores, so it makes this an interesting story.

Now one day as she is traveling, or working, Shechem, son of Hamor the Hivite, rapes her.
Then decides he loves her, for the life of me I don't understand that one, and wants to marry her.

He has his father approach Jacob and his sons and "make a offer"for Dinah's hand in marriage. The sons reply:
13 Because their sister Dinah had been defiled, Jacob’s sons replied deceitfully as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor. 14 They said to them, “We can’t do such a thing; we can’t give our sister to a man who is not circumcised. That would be a disgrace to us. 15 We will enter into an agreement with you on one condition only: that you become like us by circumcising all your males. 16 Then we will give you our daughters and take your daughters for ourselves. We’ll settle among you and become one people with you. 17 But if you will not agree to be circumcised, we’ll take our sister and go.”

Since Shechem loved Dinah, the proposal seems good and he and his father go to the gate of the city and spoke to the men and they agreed to the terms. All of the men came out of the City gate and were circumcised.

Now here is were the story takes a turn. 

25 Three days later, while all of them were still in pain, two of Jacob’s sons, Simeon and Levi, Dinah’s brothers, took their swords and attacked the unsuspecting city, killing every male. 26 They put Hamor and his son Shechem to the sword and took Dinah from Shechem’s house and left.27 The sons of Jacob came upon the dead bodies and looted the citywhere[c] their sister had been defiled. 28 They seized their flocks and herds and donkeys and everything else of theirs in the city and out in the fields. 29 They carried off all their wealth and all their women and children, taking as plunder everything in the houses.

Needless to say Jacob was not pleased. He was worried that the Canaanites and Perizzites would be angered with his tribe, and his tribe was small and could not defend itself against them.  

The brothers replied, “Should he have treated our sister like a prostitute?”

My thoughts are: the brothers acted out of love for their sister BUT it was misdirected. The punishment didn't fit the crime. All the men didn't rape their sister. One man raped their sister. One man should have paid the price, not all. 

Sometimes we let our hearts over react, we need to pray, then think, then act on what needs to be done. And sometimes we  don't even need to act on it, we just need to let God do the acting. 

Jacob has a good reason to worry. These boys did a great injustice to this city. Let's see what comes next..........

JUNEBUG'S 1ST BIRTHDAY

In The Word Wednesday: Genesis 33

Hello Everybody!

My what a week(or two) I had! First a diverticulitis attack that put me in the ER and on my back for almost a week then a bout of Gout, another week off my feet. Pain killers kept me from being able to focus to much on studying go I will try to get back in the swing here.

Today I read Genesis 33. Jacob meets Esau and finds that inhe is happy to see him. Not angry and wanting to kill or harm him as he had thought. In fact Esau doesn't wish to accept the gifts from Jacob, but Jacob insists. Esau wants to accompany Jacob back home but Jacob is skeptical and lingers back when Esau insists on leaving troops to protect Jacob, he still refuses. Jacob is weary of Esau's offer.
In the end Esau went to Seir and Jacob went to Sukkoth. Then the Bible states:

18 After Jacob came from Paddan Aram,[b] he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan and camped within sight of the city. 19 For a hundred pieces of silver,[c]he bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, the plot of ground where he pitched his tent. 20 There he set up an altar and called it El Elohe Israel.[d]

Why didn't Jacob return to his father's land? I feel he was still afraid of Esau. Maybe he felt Esau's welcome was not genuine. So Jacob's deceit is still haunting him. If he hadn't deceived Esau in the first place then he would have no reason to fear his brother. 

This rivalry is present till this day between Israel and  Islam today. Brother's yet enemy's. It is also present here in our own country among our own families. When we truly learn to Love as God Loves,

Forgive as God Forgives, then we can have true healing. Until then we will have division.

I thank God for His unfailing Love and Forgiveness!
