Hello Everybody,
I am sorry it's been so long since I posted. I am finally home and getting into the swing of things. It seems I was gone forever. Good news is that my granddaughter and daughter are doing very well. Baby is still in the hospital but she should be going home very soon. We are so blessed that all has gone well so far and I know God will continue to bless us all with this precious little one.
Here she is now, a whooping 4lb 2oz! (she started at 2lb 3oz)
Boy, she has grown. Beautiful!! (I am a bit prejudice though. lol)
Even though I didn't bring a lot with me, well that's my opinion, maybe not everyone else's, hee, hee, I was able to do some things while away. I didn't have a proper place to work so most of my work was done on my bed in our room, in the NICU, next to June's isolate or in the lobby of the hospital, on my lap. Not the ideal situation but were there's a will; there's a way, as they say!
Here are a few things I did:
We made this banner to put on June's isolate.
I used Party Pandas, Zoo Babies, and Love you Lots stamp sets. So Eclectic DSP with Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist card stock and Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.
I made a picture for my granddaughter. Her mommy can add her bracelet and such if she wishes as it is a shadow box and has depth to it.
I used the Little Twinkle stamp set, Twinkle, Twinkle DSP and Sea Foam, Gray Granite and Pedal Pink card stock.
I enjoyed making cards for the residents of the Ronald McDonald House, where we stayed. This really helped to pass my time and use up some retired items. Win, Win!!
I made others but forgot to take pictures, duh!
And I made about fifty of this one, it was a big hit!
I used the Jar of Love stamp set here. I just love this stamp set!!
The Ronald McDonald House has activities for the residents, so I volunteered to do a class. They let me use the activity room. I ran the class on an "as you come" basis. I had about 7 people come in over an hour and an half, to participate. They seemed to enjoy themselves.
Here are a few of the participants from the event:
The cards we made were simple, as you can see here:
Sorry, not a very clear picture.
I used a variety of papers, all retired. This was a pleasure to do. It helped us all get our minds off of things, even if it was just for a little while.
It was a long seven weeks but it was a pleasure to be there for my daughter and watch my granddaughter grow. And as you can see I was able to keep busy on my down time. I was also able to visit some dear friends that I have missed since moving from North Carolina. That was a little blessing in itself! (Thanks Deb, Brigid and Mar, for the memories and hospitality!)
If you're ever in Fuquay visit the Fainting Goat Micro Brewery! It's a great place and my friend MaryAnn is a co-owner!
Hopefully I will be able to start making tutorials again soon. I have missed doing them and am looking forward to starting again.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Have a great week!!
